ZIRC ring ceremony

A tradition started by the first Faculty of Energy Systems and Nuclear Science graduating class, the Zirc ring ceremony is an annual event held for all students who graduate from an undergraduate program. Each graduate receives a ring made of zircaloy, which is the same material used to make nuclear fuel cladding. The ring represents the specialized knowledge each graduate has obtained.
