FESNS offers a variety of honours degree options. You can select from our bachelor degrees in:

These programs have been designed to prepare you for rewarding careers in a growing market. Our energy systems engineering and nuclear engineering programs are the first stand-alone programs of their kind in Canada.
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
Our Bachelor of Engineering in Nuclear Engineering (Honours) program was designed to meet a worldwide need for graduates in the field of nuclear engineering. Although the primary focus of the program is nuclear power plant engineering, the curriculum is sufficiently broad-based so you will be well qualified for careers in many applications of nuclear technology and energy related fields.
During your first two years you will gain a solid foundation in the fundamentals of mathematics and sciences, with years three and four concentrating on engineering sciences and specific nuclear engineering courses. You will learn in a variety of settings including:
- Field visits
- The most extensive computer simulation of nuclear power of any engineering program in Canada
Electives may be taken from other programs in the engineering and science faculties, health physics and radiation science, and liberal arts, with complementary studies in collaborative leadership, economics, ethics and law, and strategic management. You will develop management, interpersonal, problem-solving, and holistic thinking skills while gaining a comprehensive knowledge of nuclear engineering science and design, as well as the latest developments in this field.
The Nuclear Engineering program meets the requirements of the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. Each graduate is eligible to apply for licensing as a professional engineer (PEng) in Ontario and in any province or territory in Canada.
- The Nuclear Engineering program has received full national accreditation for the maximum amount of time allowed for an engineering program, which reflects the high quality of the program, students, faculty, and our university. The accreditation process examines not only the courses, but also the supporting programs and other factors such as labs, library resources, student space, student morale, faculty morale, etc.
