Graduate Diploma
Graduate Diplomas in Nuclear Technology
UOIT plans to offer six graduate diplomas
in Nuclear Technology based on areas of sub-specialization within the fields of
nuclear power and radiological and health physics in the MASc/MEng in Nuclear
Engineering program. The proposed programs have been designed to accommodate
the needs of personnel working in the nuclear industry to upgrade their
knowledge and skills, so they can position themselves for transfer and/or
advancement within their industry and to promote an orientation toward lifelong
learning.
The six proposed graduate diplomas in
Nuclear Technology are:
-
Fuel, Materials and Chemistry;
-
Health Physics;
-
Operation and Maintenance;
-
Radiological Applications;
-
Reactor Systems; and
-
Safety, Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
Students will obtain their diploma in a
given sub-specialty by completing four courses as outlined in the program
requirements. These four courses must be completed within a three-year period.
